Roofs and exterior walls 1. Galvalume steel

Roofs and exterior walls 1. Galvalume steel

Galvalume steel includes aluminum and zinc, both known for holding up against corrosion. It displays self-repairing and well-balanced properties, and won’t rust even after years of use. (The material is 55% aluminum, 43.4% zinc and 1.6% silicon by mass.) There are also many color variations.

Exterior walls 2. Wood planks

Exterior walls 2. Wood planks

We infuse our homes with warmth by using Japanese cedar from southern Hokkaido. This excellent timber was grown amid the chill of the fallen snow, and comes from large reserves. It holds up against decay thanks to its resistance to wood-rotting fungus, and thanks to its moderate strength, it makes for exterior walls that won’t warp easily.

Exterior walls 3. Mortar coating

Exterior walls 3. Mortar coating

Mortar construction methods are said to have been pioneered here during the Meiji Era. They are exceedingly easy to maintain, and their appearance is always changing depending on the style of the plasterer holding the trowel, which makes possible a unique look for each home.

Entryway door

Entryway door

We use doors with wooden insulation built in. Thanks to this superiority in weather-proofing as well as heat and sound insulation, even the entryway will stay warm.

Window openings

Window openings

We use triple-paned wooden sash windows. Each is made to order, so the size and shape can conform to any blueprint. From large windows, you can see the majestic landscape outside, while the wooden sashes give the space a pleasant atmosphere.

Floor 1. Pine flooring

Floor 1. Pine flooring

We use completely natural and healthy pine in our pure pine flooring. The softness of the material gives it a pleasing texture, and with the warm passage of time it will turn an amber color. One might say these floors grow even more beautiful as the years go by.

Floor 2. Japanese beech flooring

Floor 2. Japanese beech flooring

Our all-natural, healthy pure Japanese beech flooring is made from lumber harvested in southern Hokkaido. Because the material is harder than pine it can also feel colder, but it is also more difficult to scratch or stain.

Floor 3. Linoleum

Floor 3. Linoleum

Our linoleum is made from 100% natural materials, such as flax seed oil. Because it is all-natural, it’s also more elastic, making it easy to wipe off water or any other surface spill.

Plaster containing diatomaceous earth

Plaster containing diatomaceous earth

Diatomaceous earth is a highly porous material, the main ingredient of which is silicic acid. It therefore serves to absorb and expel moisture, regulating the humidity of the room and preventing the formation of condensation. It also deodorizes and cleanses the air. There are various coating methods, and depending on the one you choose the wall can have a completely unique look.

Fittings

Fittings

We manufacture our own original fittings. Our floors are completely level, and our doors are suspended sliding doors that don’t require rails, guaranteeing an adequate width. The surface is made of pine, along with variations using oak, Japanese linden or Douglas fir.

Interior paint

Interior paint

On the wooden sections of our floors and elsewhere we use natural, healthy plant-based paints. Containing no formaldehyde or other VOCs, these plant-based materials are made from beeswax and non-toxic pigments. The wood is allowed to breath even after being painted, and the paint also makes the surface water-resistant.
